Common Groundz Community Cafe

Moved to the area recently and decided to try check out the cafe. The menu is okay, the coffee is good and the staff are very friendly. So I'd say if you're in Lalor Park, it's worth trying them out.

This community cafe is such a gem, run by kind people and with affordable, tasty food. There is art up on display around the cafe walls and personal touches around the cafe like hand-made blankets. I've tried the open melt and the loaded breakfast wrap from here so far, and I'll be coming back for more. They're very reasonably priced and were served fresh. The onion relish is home made and way better than barbecue or tomato sauce in my opinion! Common Groundz will often will have a food donation area out the front with items that the community can take home if they need. Common Groundz also recently helped serve the community at a Christmas carols service in Chifley Park across the street, their presence is always warm and welcoming.

4.3: nice hole in the wall local cafè. Staff were very lovely. We ordered the vegetarian big breakfast with brown bread. It was nice just probably need to ease on the oil as it was a bit greasy. Very generous on the bread though, mushrooms were cooked nicely. Their extra hot chai lattè was well made. And my husband is quite particular with his hot drink and for him to say it’s good then it’s good. They could sure use an upgrade on the entire cafè and we saw they’re going to launch their website soon so that’s a really good milestone. Well done guys. Would definitely come here again.

Such a nice place and service. Very warm, friendly, and homely. Coffee is amazing!

Came here for breaky with my parents, thought it was just a normal cafe. The food was awesome, shakes are great. We sat out the back and enjoyed the community atmosphere where everyone was welcome and positive. I’m 30 and I don’t think I’ve ever seen people be so inclusive and kind to each other. Crazy. Love it. Great service, the volunteer was committed to finding my very particular mum something that she would really enjoy. Nailed it. Thank you.

The food is amazing. Fantastic portions, tasty, filling yet very affordable! Coffee is also excellent...and strong!!!! And to top it off, the staff are actually very lovely people, and have no problems getting to aome great conversations with you. Is my go to cafe for sometime now.

What I love about this place is that the cafe ia designed to give back to the lalor park community just like salt gives flavour and preserves meat to a tasteless and dying world. Food is still very tasty and my long black was flavoursome. Recommend a big brekkie or their hash special if they have it on. Not everyone is going to google and come here to eat or get a coffee from miles away, but we need more of these life giving community cafes that want to impact society and give generously. If you're around in the morning? Stop by for a coffee and chat with the friendly staff. There are opportunities to volunteer here too!
